Licensed Wireless

Licensed wireless last-mile links are the most reliable form of wireless link technology and its low maintenance and found in the most critical networks. Also called microwave links, licensed wireless offer exclusivity to frequencies in the 7GHz to 40GHz spectrum and are more popular for critical communication as a result of noise interference in the unlicensed wireless spectrum, such as 2.4Ghz or 5.8GHz.

Therefore, licensed wireless bridges provide security from the risk of wireless interference from other outdoor radio frequency systems. This is the major reason to opt for a licensed unit where interference can degrade an unlicensed outdoor wireless bridge system’s performance and in some cases even prevent the system from functioning at all.

Our licensed wireless links are engineered to provide predictable multi-gigabit speeds with reliability of 99.999% uptime with no interference. We handle license requests to ICASA on a daily basis and assist the customer with the paperwork for acquiring the licenses. The costs of licenses vary so you will need to understand the potential license costs associated with your solution.

Our licensed wireless links are recommended for:

  • Organizations looking to create a long-distance LAN connections
  • Organizations looking to reduce the cost of existing leased lines
  • In high-density areas suffering from RF interference
  • Mission-critical data requiring 99.999% uptime
  • Telecommunications, campus networks, IP, PDH and SDH networks, intranets and LAN connections

Unlicensed Wireless

Unlicensed and light license wireless links are the most cost-effective of all last-mile links and can be deployed in a matter of days. Currently, in most countries there are a few unlicensed ISM-band frequencies (5Ghz, 24Ghz, and 60GHz) that are used for point to point links and a few light licensed frequencies (64-66GHz and 70/80GHz) that provide operation without risk of frequency signal interference.

Our unlicensed wireless links are recommended for:

  • Low-density areas not suffering from RF interference
  • Non-critical data transmission
  • Organizations looking to create a LAN across multiple buildings on the same site
  • Organizations looking to reduce the cost of existing leased lines
